Meet the Dentists
Dr. Monique Raineault
Dr. Monique Raineault graduated with distinction from the University of Western Ontario Faculty of Dentistry in 1998 and also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Manitoba. Dr. Raineault has practiced general dentistry at Island Lakes Dental Centre since 1998 and has a particular interest in crown and bridge and cosmetic dentistry. On March 1st, 2012, Dr. Raineault became the owner of Island Lakes Dental Centre. She participates in numerous continuing education courses throughout the year in order to maintain a high level of knowledge of current dental treatments and technologies. Dr. Raineault is dedicated to providing comprehensive, quality dental care for patients of all ages, including children. She has always enjoyed meeting families from the community and helping them maintain their oral health over the years.
Dr. Raineault is fluent in both French and English. She, her husband John, and two children were born and raised in Winnipeg. She is an avid runner, enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Dr. Ron Tough
Dr. Ron Tough has been in private practice in Winnipeg for over 30 years. He graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba in 1983. He opened Island Lakes Dental Centre in 1988 in the Island Lakes Mall and was the sole owner and operator for 24 years. In 2004, Dr. Tough moved the practice just a few doors down into a brand new state of the art facility. He is now enjoying a more relaxed role as associate dentist at Island Lakes Dental. He has taken hundreds of hours of comprehensive advanced training in all aspects of dentistry. Dr. Tough's dental interests and expertise lie in restorative, cosmetics, crown & bridge, and implant dentistry. His extensive training in these areas allows him to create beautiful smiles and help people develop life time strategies to keep their teeth.
Dr. Tough also teaches implant dentistry to the senior dental students at the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba, in addition to working at his private practice. He has served on the peer review committee for the Manitoba Dental Association, and is currently on two other committees for the Manitoba Dental Association. He has also volunteered many hours providing dental care to the needy at the Saul Sair Health Clinic at Siloam Mission.
Dr. Tough lives in Island Lakes with his wife and two children. He has been volunteering in the community for several years. He has been involved in coaching sports teams, Big Brothers and other community programs. He and his wife Rhonda have lived in the area for their whole lives and love being part of the community! Their interests include art, travelling, being outdoors and spending time in the Whiteshell.
Dr. Kunit Nagra
Dr. Kunit Nagra was born and raised in the south end of Winnipeg. He graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba in 2011. In addition to his Dentistry degree (DMD), Dr. Nagra also holds degrees in Dental Research (BSc Dent), Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) and Bachelor of Science (Microbiology). Dr. Nagra has been practising General Dentistry since 2011. Although he enjoys all aspects of Dentistry, he has a keen interest in Oral Surgery. He regularly attends continuing education lectures and courses to stay up to date with the latest developments in Dentistry.
In his spare time, Dr. Nagra enjoys going to the gym and playing sports such as touch football, floor hockey and tennis. He is fluent in English, Punjabi and Hindi. He and his wife Simmy have been married since 2013 and recently built their first home in the Waverley West area.
Dr. Kyle Gauthier
Dr. Kyle Gauthier was born and raised in Winnipeg and is proud to be serving the community he grew up in. Dr. Gauthier graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba in May 2003, having previously completed a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Manitoba. Upon graduating, Dr. Gauthier was accepted into a one-year General Dental Internship program at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, where he trained to treat medically compromised and special needs patients. Dr. Gauthier completed his internship in 2004 and began practicing general dentistry in Winnipeg and surrounding communities. In 2006 Dr. Gauthier became a staff Doctor in the General Dentistry Department at HSC treating special needs patients using sedation techniques. Dr. Gauthier sees many patients in his private practice for their general dental needs utilizing sedation techniques for patients that find their dental experience stressful.
Dr. Gauthier was involved with the establishment of the University of Manitoba Dental Alumni Association, recently serving as President. He continues to serve on the board of this organization. Dr. Gauthier is a member of the Pharmacologic and Behaviour Management study club, expanding his ability to treat and manage less than enthusiastic dental patients.
Dr. Gauthier has been fortunate enough to serve the community of Island Lakes for the past 10 years, working as an associate at Island Lakes Dental Centre. He has been involved with amateur football for many years, volunteering as a coach and also as an official. He continues to play hockey and attempts to run in the Manitoba Marathon every Father’s Day. He resides in St. Vital with his wife and two young children, enjoying all the surprises they have to offer.
