Meet the Dentists

Dr. Monique Raineault

Dr. Monique RaineaultDr. Monique Raineault graduated with distinction from the University of Western Ontario Faculty of Dentistry in 1998 and also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Manitoba. Dr. Raineault has practiced general dentistry at Island Lakes Dental Centre since 1998 and has a particular interest in crown and bridge and cosmetic dentistry. On March 1st, 2012, Dr. Raineault became the owner of Island Lakes Dental Centre.  She participates in numerous continuing education courses throughout the year in order to maintain a high level of knowledge of current dental treatments and technologies. Dr. Raineault is dedicated to providing comprehensive, quality dental care for patients of all ages, including children. She has always enjoyed meeting families from the community and helping them maintain their oral health over the years.    

Dr. Raineault is fluent in both French and English. She, her husband John, and two children were born and raised in Winnipeg. She is an avid runner, enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.


Dr. Kunit Nagra

Dr. Kunit Nagra was born and raised in the south end of Winnipeg.  He graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba in 2011.  In addition to his Dentistry degree (DMD), Dr. Nagra also holds degrees in Dental Research (BSc Dent), Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) and Bachelor of Science (Microbiology).  Dr. Nagra has been practising General Dentistry since 2011.  Although he enjoys all aspects of Dentistry, he has a keen interest in Oral Surgery.  He regularly attends continuing education lectures and courses to stay up to date with the latest developments in Dentistry.

In his spare time, Dr. Nagra enjoys going to the gym and playing sports such as touch football, floor hockey and tennis.  He is fluent in English, Punjabi and Hindi.  He and his wife Simmy have been married since 2013 and recently built their first home in the Waverley West area.


Dr. Ron Tough 

 Dr. Ron ToughCongratulations to Dr. Ron Tough on his retirement from dental practice in May 2020! As the founding dentist of Island Lakes Dental Centre and having served the community for over 30 years, he will be greatly missed. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.  








Dr. Kyle Gauthier

Dr. Kyle GauthierDr. Kyle Gauthier was born and raised in Winnipeg and is proud to be serving the community he grew up in. Dr. Gauthier graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba in May 2003, having previously completed a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Manitoba.  Upon graduating, Dr. Gauthier was accepted into a one-year General Dental Internship program at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, where he trained to treat medically compromised and special needs patients. Dr. Gauthier completed his internship in 2004 and began practicing general dentistry in Winnipeg and surrounding communities. In 2006 Dr. Gauthier became a staff Doctor in the General Dentistry Department at HSC treating special needs patients using sedation techniques. Dr. Gauthier sees many patients in his private practice for their general dental needs utilizing sedation techniques for patients that find their dental experience stressful.

Dr. Gauthier was involved with the establishment of the University of Manitoba Dental Alumni Association, recently serving as President. He continues to serve on the board of this organization. Dr. Gauthier is a member of the Pharmacologic and Behaviour Management study club, expanding his ability to treat and manage less than enthusiastic dental patients.

Dr. Gauthier has been fortunate enough to serve the community of Island Lakes for the past 10 years, working as an associate at Island Lakes Dental Centre. He has been involved with amateur football for many years, volunteering as a coach and also as an official. He continues to play hockey and attempts to run in the Manitoba Marathon every Father’s Day. He resides in St. Vital with his wife and two young children, enjoying all the surprises they have to offer.
